Several new chairlifts have been installed at various resorts across New England for the 2025-26 winter season. Here’s the list of new lifts and which resorts they’ll be at this season…
Bretton Woods
BEQ II
The aging Bethlehem Express chairlift that had been in place since the late 1980s was replaced with a brand-new high speed Leitner-Poma detachable quad called the BEQ II. The new lift is not quite as long as the old one but does provide a faster ride time and better dependability.

If you haven’t been to Bretton Woods before, this lift is located just to the right of the Gondola, and travels about 2/3rds of the way to the top of the mountain. This lift services mostly beginner to intermediate terrain at the resort.
Killington
Superstar Six
Another aging quad lift from the 1980s, the Superstar Express at Killington, was replaced with a brand new high speed six-pack express lift from Doppelmayr. This new lift, Superstar Six, will provide a faster ride to the top, a little over 3 minutes and will be more likely to stay open in windy conditions due to the heavier chairs.

If you go to Killington, you’ll be able to find this chair at the base of Killington Peak on the left of the K-1 Lodge. This lift takes you to Skye Peak, providing access to nearly half the mountain and all terrain difficulty levels.
Pats Peak
Hurricane
The old Hurricane Triple Chair at Pats Peak had been around since the late 1970s but is now replaced by the resort’s first-ever Quad chairlift from Garaventa. The new Hurricane Quad is a fixed-grip chair that was formerly located at Lake Compounce in Connecticut but is now providing 200 more passengers per hour (25% increase) and a faster ride time to the summit at Pats Peak.

While visiting the resort you’ll find this lift on the left side of the base area, servicing just under half of Pats Peak‘s trails and all terrain difficulty levels.
Ski Butternut
Jane’s Quad
Replacing the Overbook Triple that had been on the mountain since 1975, the new Jane’s Quad chairlift is another new Skytrac chairlift on the resort, following the previous addition of the Paddy Wagon Quad in 2021. Although the quad has roughly the same capacity as the old lift, it will take you a bit higher on the mountain and be more reliable to run in windy conditions with the heavier chairs.

This lift can be found on the right side of Butternut Basin, near the Upper Lodger, and will take you to the top of the resort’s second-highest peak. Jane’s Quad also services all skill levels but mainly intermediate to advanced skiers.
Titcomb
T-Bar 2
Despite all of the lift additions at the larger resorts in Maine, the only ski area to add a new lift this season is the small hill of Titcomb in Farmington. This new lift, a T-Bar from Dopplemayr, replaces an old T-Bar from 1953 that brings a 2.5 minute ride to the hill’s summit.

This new lift is one of two summit T-Bars on the mountain and you’ll find it on the right of the Base lodge. It services 90% of the hill’s terrain and all skill levels. It is also the main lift for the hill’s terrain park.
Wachusett
Polar Express 6-Pack
The first six-pack chair at Wachusett Mountain was installed in 2025, replacing the old Polar Express high speed quad chair that had been on the mountain over 30 years. The new Polar Express will provide a slightly quicker ride to the summit, just under 4.5 minutes, and will be able to operate in windier conditions than the old lift due to its heavier chairs.

If it’s your first time going to Wachusett this lift is right in front of the base lodge, if you enter the lodge from the parking lot. It’ll take you to the summit and services intermediate to advanced terrain. So if you’re a novice skier, you’ll want to stick to the Monadnock Express before you hop on the Polar Express.
Waterville Valley
World Cup T-Bar

Another T-Bar in New England has been replaced, this time at Waterville Valley where the Exhibition T-Bar has been replaced by the new World Cup T-Bar. This lift by MND has nearly double the capacity of the old lift, making it easier for race and freestyle skiers to have faster access to terrain.
This lift is located in front of the base lodge but accessed by either the Tecumseh Express or beginner area magic carpets. This lift mainly services advanced terrain, including the terrain park and ski racing areas but also services a couple intermediate trails.
That’s all for this season, but there’s more lifts coming to New England already for next season. 3 new lifts are planned, one for Loon, Stratton, and Killington and that’s just what’s been announced so far.
Stay tuned!
