New Hampshire — The Balsams have a bold new expansion plan that includes adding 2,100 skiable acres to the existing resort, 19 new lifts, new ski facilities, and a new snow making system. If completed, the Balsams will be the largest resort on the east coast.
Currently the resort features only 100 skiable acres, and only 3 lifts, and is more known for the Balsams Wilderness resort that for skiing. The expansion is the largest single expansion proposed to a ski resort in New England, and would be a big change to the resort and surrounding area.
