NEW CHAIRLIFTS: 2024/25 ski season

Several resorts have made upgrades during the offseason, including new chairlifts for the season. Here’s a list of some of the new ski lifts you’ll see on the slopes this year…

At Pleasant Mountain, the former Summit Triple was replaced by a high-speed detachable quad that used to be the old Jordan Express at Sunday River. The long-awaited upgrade will has an upward travel capacity of 2400 people per hour, with a ride time of just 4.5 minutes. This is half of the time to the summit of the old lift.

At Sugarbush, the Heaven’s Gate Triple has been replaced but the new Heaven’s Gate Quad chairlift. This is a fixed-grip quad that will have lower wind exposure, so it can remain operational under windier conditions.

BigRock ski area in northern Maine has replaced it’s aging summit chair with a new fixed-grip quad. The new Sunrise Quad was part of a $5.6 million upgrade to the resort along with snowmaking and lodge upgrades.

Ski Sundown in Connecticut, replaced the Exibition Triple chair with a new fixed-grip quad from Skytrac. This lift will have a capacity of 2400 people per hour and is about 50 feet per minute faster than the previous lift, allowing more skiers to get to the summit faster.
